Lager
A step above mass produced lager beers, Legend Lager offers the comfort of easy drinkability while also bringing a depth of flavor due to our use of 100% barley malt, yeilding a pure, bright malt flavor and a medium body.Modest hopping and cool fermentation temperatures make for a smooth character and a clean finish. 4.8% abv.

Brown Ale
Our most popular beer, Legend's is a full bodied version of a British Brown Ale. Expect a rich, malt-foreward brew with a beautiful mahogony tone. Generous amounts of specialty malts bring flavors of sweet caramel, toasted nuts, coffee, and molasses, all perfectly balanced by a steady but cautious hop dryness. Fruity undertones provided by our house yeast strain bring the final flavor element to round out this world class ale. 6% abv.

Porter
Our Porter is rich, roasty and loaded with chocolate and coffee flavors. Healthy amounts of specialty malts including caramel malt and roasted barley make this sweet black ale robust and full bodied. Hopping is minimal and for balance only. This beer is an excellent pair to most any meal, especially meat dishes and desserts. Or it can serve as a meal on it's own. 6% abv.

Hefeweizen
This beer's unusual name comes from the German "weiss" (wheat), and "hefe" (yeast). Therefore, a hefeweizen is an unfiltered wheat beer. Weizen beers are something of an anomily among German beers, as they are fermented on ale yeast whereas virtually all other beers from this country are lagers. The yeast strain dominates the aroma and flavor profile in this brew. If you suspect we added banana and clove to the beer, you are simply picking up qualities of this wonderful yeast. Our Hefeweizen is mashed with a 50/50 blend of wheat malt and barley malt. The wheat portion of the mash is responsible for keeping the flavor crisp and the body light. Hallertau and Sterling hops are used minimally for balance and another dimension of spice. Expect an intense aroma of fruit (banana, apricot, citrus), and spice (clove, pepper). The initial flavor is sharp and tart, yeilding to a malty sweetness in the middle. The finish is effervescent, dry, and quenching. Legend Hefeweizen is the perfect match for light summer fare including salads, seafood, and grilled meats. Available on draft and in 22 oz. bottles all summer. 5% abv.

Golden IPA
In the image of an English IPA, Legend Golden is a big, full-bodied brew with the perfect balance between malty sweetness and hop bitterness. Years ago, as an experemental brew, this underdog of a beer found it's way into the hearts of Legend patrons and became a cult classic in Richmond. Legend Golden has been described as a "high class malt liquor" by a noteable source. This strong ale sports a rich gold color, an aroma of sweet malt and clean hops, and an earthy, fruity flavor. 7% abv

Pilsner
Pilsner is the most imitated style of beer in the world. Prior to the 1840's all beers were dark and cloudy. In 1842 a new brewery in Pilsen, Bohemia introduced a brew that was golden and clear. Our version has a deep gold color and a firm malt background. The emphasis is on the assertive hopping with Hallertau and Sterling varieties. Expect a beer that is substantial in body while finishing with a crisp dryness. Spicy and floral hop flavors are evident throughout. 6% abv.

American Lager
Our take on this style offers a light body, crispness of flavor, and a never ending drinkability perfect for summer afternoons on the deck. A percentage of wheat and corn in the mash keep the malt sweetness mild and offer a subtle, quenching tartness. Hop aroma and flavor are very low. At 4% abv., think of this as the craft beer drinker's lawnmower beer...friendly, yet flavorful.

Pale Ale
Our American style Pale Ale is a hop lover's dream. We craft this copper colored ale to supply a moderate bitterness and an aggressive hop flavor and aroma. Willamette hops pitched early in the boil give a clean, soft bitterness. Late kettle hops include Northern Brewer, Simcoe, and Chinook for plenty of pungent pine and citrus character. Judicious amounts of four specialty malts add counter and depth. Expect a medium bodied brew with an assertive, complex flavor and a dry finish. 6% abv

Maibock
The full-bodied malty palate of this traditional style strong lager carries flavors of honey and light toast. Fermented on the same yeast strain as our Doppelbock, this copper hued brew is offered on draft only in a very limited quantity this spring. - Brewed with a blend of Munich and medium kilned malts for a smooth, rich character - Modestly hopped with Willamette for a pleasant aroma and a subtle, balancing bitterness - Fermented on an authentic German lager yeast strain for a clean background and a malt enhanced finish - 7% abv.
